October has been designated as national Fire Prevention Month. North Hudson Regional Fire & Rescue has an extensive program of fire prevention education. During the month of October, staff members from the Division of Community Relations, along with members of our line fire companies, visit local schools and deliver a comprehensive program on fire prevention and fire safety education. In addition, presentations are given to residents of apartment complexes. In 2004, during Fire Prevention Month, presentations were given at 40 schools throughout the region and thousands of children were given a valuable education in fire prevention and fire safety. |
